Parent Discussion Group

Starts
Monday, December 9, 2024
Ends
Monday, December 9, 2024

On Monday, December 9, 2024, from 6 - 7:00 PM PDT, join RaiseAChild for our monthly open discussion group for current and/or prospective resource parents with an openness or willingness to foster youth that often have difficulty finding homes (this includes youth of color, LGBTQ youth, sibling sets, and teenagers).

The group will offer a safe space to discuss resource parents' questions, thoughts, feelings, and/or worries about fostering. The group may also cover common challenges fostering, offer affirming caregiving/parenting practices, share resources to support these children, and an opportunity to learn from and connect with other resource caregivers/parents.

All groups will be facilitated by Dr. Liz Ollen, PhD (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in supporting youth and their caregivers/families. Her expertise includes childhood trauma, stress and adversity, identity development, and youth in the child welfare system.
